Jemma is currently appearing as Cinderella at The Alban Arena St Albans with Gareth Gates
Jemma Carlisle’s Cinderella is gorgeous, doll-like and has a sweet lilt to her singing.
"She's the title character, the girl who suffers through no fault of her own before finding true love and happiness. But Jemma Carlisle as Cinderella in this year's Paul Hendy-Bob Golding production at the Alban Arena, St Albans' multi-purpose entertainment centre, has to compete with singing star Gareth Gates as Prince Charming. I'm happy to report that it's a draw... Carlisle also sings well and projects a sweet personality which refuses to be corrupted under provocation."
Cinderella was played by Jemma Carlisle. It's the first time I have seen her, although she has played at this venue before. She is very pretty , with a lovely voice, and was perfectly cast as a naive Cinderella, who doesn't have a mean bone in her body. In the scene where she goes to the Ball, two beautiful white ponies were on stage with her, enthralling the audience as they stood there quietly apparently unfazed by the lights and the noise.
Cinderella was played by Jemma Carlisle, returning to St Albans after her success last year as the leading lady. Although still very young her fabulous voice and confident stage presence means that she more than holds her own in the strong cast."
"Snow White herself is played by Jemma Carlisle as a princess with dignity as well as the common touch; she also sings and dances very well."
"Jemma Carlisle’s Snow White is a pretty Principal Girl and along with David McGranaghan as her Prince Charming the two draw the audience in with their touching romance. Their duets are full of emotion and tenderness
Jemma Carlisle brought Snow White to life without ever veering into saccharin sweetness, her innocence endearing instead of annoying"
Jemma Carlisle is a very talented singer and actress who is excellent in the role of Wendy and is surely destined for a bright future"
But one cast member has a very nice voice indeed. Young actress Jemma Carlisle sings beautifully and makes a very charming and winsome Wendy
15 year old Jemma Carlisle as Alice was able to command the attention of the audience as well as being genuinely funny and gifted with a great voice. If any young performer in the Country deserves to make it to superstar status, I have a feeling that it might just be her"
Jemma Carlisle as Annie steals the show. All credit to her because it takes some stealing and her success is a tribute to her talents which include singing, dancing, and acting her heart out." The Stage
The amazing vocals of Jemma Carlisle brought the role of Annie to life
Young Jemma Carlisle with her powerful voice has the demanding role of Annie, she seems so relaxed and at ease in the part, as if born to it" Gloucestershire Echo
Jemma Carlisle brings a great naturalness and charm to Annie in a role that could otherwise be unbearably saccharine" Coventry Echo
In her second year as St Albans’s Principal Girl, Jemma Carlisle is a delightful Princess
We also see the welcome return of Jemma Carlisle who plays Princess Jasmine. Jemma is obviously a very talented performer with a great singing voice, so it's a shame that she isn't more utilised in the show but such are the limitations of the panto genre.
